Is a popular senator taking over the reins of top-rating noontime show “Wowowee?” Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. has confirmed that he was approached by ABS-CBN to host the popular show after its permanent host, Willie Revillame, took an indefinite leave.

He said, however, that he had to turn down the offer out of respect for Revillame.
“Nagpapasalamat naman ako sa ABS-CBN. At least nakita nila na pwede tayo sa ganun but that’s really for Willie Revillame,” he said.

Revillame is the latest star rumored to have been approached for the “Wowowee” job. Dramatic actor Aga Muhlach previously said he turned down the offer.

“Bad Boy” Robin Padilla and the Kanto Boys’ Luis Manzano, Billy Crawford and John Lloyd Cruz have taken turns pinch-hitting for Revillame on the show.

Revillame earlier threatened to quit his show if ABS-CBN management did not fire another network talent, Jobert Sucaldito, from the latter’s show on radio dzMM. Revillame said Sucaldito had been criticizing “Wowowee” for some time, which caused him to issue an ultimatum.

The “Wowowee” host later apologized to management and asked to be released from his contract. -ABS-CBNnews
