Is the management of ABS-CBN eyeing Toni Gonzaga to be Kris Aquino’s replacement on “The Buzz?” When caught up with Gonzaga at the PMPC’s Stars for A Cause last May 28, she stressed that nothing’s final yet.

“Ayokong magsalita right now…. When it’s all final, tsaka ko puwedeng sabihin. Pero ‘yong SNN (Showbiz News Ngayon, Aquino’s other celebrity talk show), wala, sa tingin ko hindi [ako ang papalit doon],” she said.

Will she leave celebrity show “Entertainment Live” if the management of ABS-CBN picks her to be Aquino’s replacement?

“’E-live’ will go on and maraming mangyayari in the coming days,” she said.

Gonzaga confirmed though that Aquino talked to her and fellow hosts Mariel Rodriguez and Bianca Gonzalez even before she made the decision to leave “The Buzz” and “SNN.”

Gonzaga, Rodriguez and Gonzalez temporarily replaced Aquino on SNN when the youngest sister of president-apparent Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III went on leave to campaign for him full time.

“She told me something very personal and I don’t want to share it right now. Basta one thing that I always say and I will never get tired of saying this—I will always admire what she did for her family. Kaya niyang i-give up ‘yong isang bagay na mahal na mahal niya alang-alang sa pamilya niya,” Gonzaga said.

Gonzaga also noted that no one could replace the queen of all media, saying Aquino’s talent and achievements as a host are simply incomparable.

“It’s a big responsibility for me. I’ve said it so many times, walang pwedeng pumalit kay Ate Kris. What Ate Kris did for ‘The Buzz,’ her contribution, walang pwedeng pumalit noon. Kung sino man ang pu-puwesto at lulugar sa ‘The Buzz,’ siguro she can only be herself and contribute something. Pero hindi niya kayang palitan si Ate Kris,” she said. -ABS-CBN
