Television host-actress Kris Aquino on Sunday announced that she is set to meet the big bosses of ABS-CBN to discuss a “sacrifice” that she has to make if her older brother, Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, is sworn in as president on June 30.

Kris hinted that she is planning to give up some of her shows on ABS-CBN to help her brother fulfill the promises he made during his campaign rallies. Kris, the youngest, said she reached her decision after consulting her 3 sisters – Ballsy Aquino-Cruz, Pinky Aquino-Abellada, and Viel Aquino-Dee.

Kris is hosting “The Buzz” and “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon.” She is also part of a daily soap opera and “Pilipinas Got Talent.”

“I am not at liberty po to disclose to you certain career changes for me kasi sa Tuesday pa po namin kakausapin ang mga boss ko po dito sa ABS-CBN…. It’s something I’m willingly going to do for my family,” she said.

Kris said her sisters will accompany her in the meeting to help her explain her decision to her bosses.

She said she is willing make the sacrifice for Noynoy and for the “peace of mind of my family.”

“Ang dami ko kasing probinsiyang napuntahan na napangakuan ng napakarami. And I have to be true to my word. Lahat ng mga pinangako kong tulong na ipapaabot ni Noy, kailangan ko pong magampanan ‘yong tulong na ‘yon because they trusted us. ‘Yong tiwalang ‘yon, ‘yong botong ‘yon, isosoli po namin. Paano? Sa serbisyo sa bawat Filipino dahil walang korupsyon,” she added.

Staying put

Amid calls for her “despedida,” Kris said she is staying put to give back to her countrymen following their overwhelming support for Noynoy. She said she will do everything to help her brother.

“After June 30, there are many, many changes, but change na magaan po sa puso ko dahil po I love this country. But more than that I really love my family,” she said.

She called on the Filipinos to work for “a better Philippines” and to give “this country a chance.”

The actress also expressed her gratitude to her brother, who constantly defends her from heavy criticisms.

“Nakatulong po ako sa kapatid ko and balak ko pong tulungan si Noy in every possible way that I can for as long as he wants me to help him,” she said.

“And lastly to Shalani, she proved to me how much she truly cared for Noy by campaigning 100%. Ako kakampi mo na ako… alagaan mo na lang talaga si Noy,” she added, referring to Noynoy’s girlfriend, Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad. -Source: ABS-CBNnews
