Some of showbiz’s brightest stars are now the ones monitoring the first automated elections in the country.

Helping ABS-CBN’s Halalan 2010 coverage are stars like Robi Domingo, Chokolait, Princess, Mariel Rodriguez and Pokwang who took time to be at Studio 5 as early as 7 a.m. to take calls from concerned citizens who are also patrolling the elections.

“Umagang Kay Ganda” hosts Donita Rose, Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio and Star Patroller Ginger Conejero are also part of Halalan 2010 Celebrity Patrollers.

In their Tweets, the stars appealed to all Filipinos to go out and exercise their right to choose their next leaders. They also reminded the voters to vote wisely.

“WAG MATAKOT. MAGMATYAG!! NAKASALALAY ANG KINABUKASAN NATIN SA HALALAN NA ITO KAYA IPAGLABAN ANG KAPAYAPAAN SA ARAW NA ITO!,” Pokwang said on his Twitter page.

“We’ll try our best to deliver these to the right people. C’mon PINOYS, let’s do what it takes, each and everyone do his/her own part, for a better country,” Peralejo-Bonifacio said.

“Be the eyes and ears of vote-buying, long lines, PCOS machine problems, reports of failure of transmission,” Conejero added.

Stars like Sitti, Iya Villania and Angel Locsin also expressed their excitement for the country’s first automated elections through their Twitter accounts.

“Just woke up..off 2 Las Pinas 2vote. Dear Lord, pls watch over us all today. Grant us wisdom and watchful eyes. We commend our country to u,” Sitti said.

“Vote wisely, my friends! We can be sure of positive change and can finally be proud of good news that will reach other nations if we do so. I hope you really KNOW your president and not just giving in to popularity,” Villania advised.

“Iboto po natin ang ating mga konsensya!” Geneva Cruz added.

“My vote, my choice, my decision,” Locsin said. -Source: ABS-CBNnews
