The Pinoy televiewers have spoken: Gretchen Barretto’s “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode emerged victorious over her sister Claudine Barretto’s drama anthology debut on Saturday, April 10, according to TNS TV ratings.

La Greta’s episode, aired on ABS-CBN, ranked higher in National, Mega Manila, and Metro Manila with 31.4%, 23.6%, and 26.4%, respectively.

GMA-7’s “Claudine,” on the other hand, rated 14.7% in National, 17.3% in Mega Manila, and 14.7% in Metro Manila.

More, the much-publicized “MMK” episode also topped the entire Saturday primetime race, while “Claudine” placed at sixth.

In “Larawan” (episode title), Gretchen played a woman caught in a complex love story of falling in love with a priest, played by Jomari Yllana.

“Claudine”‘s pilot episode has the Optimum Star playing the wife of a man who catches Alzheimer’s disease. The Laurice Guillen-directed drama also featured Claudine’s real-life husband Raymart Santiago as her leading man.

The so-called “cockfight” between the Barretto sisters made noise last week when both networks announced that their episodes will be aired on the same day and at the same time.

In an interview with Claudine during her show’s press con, she admitted that if she’d have her way, she wouldn’t want their shows to air simultaneously. The former Kapamilya star also revealed that their parents were “hurt” about the seeming “sabong.”

During her press con, Gretchen said having both of them dominate the timeslot is a positive thing. However, she walked out of the event when the press probed further about her reaction on the “showdown,” even reportedly quoting Claudine saying their parents are mad at Gretchen.

The two are currently not on speaking terms.
